Feedback Regarding Connected Learning

Use the thread below to make daily updates (during the first week for sure) of your work on the MacBook, the SJSD network, and your home network, etc. The feedback you provide throughout the remainder of this first semester will go a long way toward helping your school district best meet your mobile and connected learning needs well into the future. These updates need not be lengthy, nor in a great deal of depth. However, of course, the more detail you are able to provide-  the better we're able to help. And remember, every little thing that helps your workflow, likely also impacts hundreds of other students in a positive way later on this year.

Are you speaking of your school "homes" folder?  If so...  they are trying to fix that.  If not, tell me more.

A problem that has been cropping up for me today is that every few minutes, Finder will, for some reason, mount the DMG for firefox and ask me to install it. Because users don't have access to the applications folder, I just move the mounted file to the trash.

A New Experience

I woke up early and went to meet everyone at the library. Once we got our passports and tickets we all headed to the airport. We took a flight to Ft. Loving the Bahamas!

I have known that I wanted to this program for a long time now. My brother did it back in 2003. I saw how much fun he was having learning the fish and then going out on the sail boats and seeing them in person. Time of my life!

Saturday, March 23rd, 2013Yesterday we arrived at Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to begin our adventure miles from home. Underwater springs reveal how coral reefs respond to ocean acidification

'Tailing' spiny lobster larvae to protect them

In a new study of spiny lobsters scientists studied the larval dispersal of this species in the Caribbean. The goal of the study was to describe the sources, sinks, and routes connecting the Caribbean spiny lobster metapopulation. The results led the team to propose marine resource management strategies that incorporate larval connectivity and "larval lobster credits" to sustain and rebuild exploited marine populations.
